Airways Anatomy Study Group
November 18, 2025
Click here to register.

In this 90-minute or longer online study group, we discuss the
detailed anatomy and function of the airways -- the pathways into the
nose, mouth, throat, and lungs!

About Healthy Airways
The airways are critical for delivering fresh oxygen into our cells and expelling carbon dioxide and other waste products. They help protect us from invading pathogens or irritants.
Compromised airways can affect sleep quality, and stunt a child's normal development or accelerate the aging process in adults. A healthy airway is essential for life, as its failure can lead to a shutdown of various body systems.

November Study Group Topics
We will look at the airways, or respiratory tract, and different structures associated with breathing, including:
* Upper and lower airways, including the . . .
- Nose and mouth
- Throat, pharynx, larynx, and trachea
- Bronchial tubes and lungs
* Musculoskeletal structures associated with airflow and breathing, including the . . .
- Oral, facial, cervical, and thoracic boney structures
- Numerous muscles of the mouth, throat, and thorax
- Eustachian tubes
- Mastoid, ethmoid, and other air cells
* Nerves, organs, and blood vessels related to breathing
- Olfactory, vagus, and phrenic nerves
- Lungs
- Immune system components
- And more!
We will briefly discuss various forms of sleep-disordered breathing, including . . .
* Mouth breathing
* Nasal obstruction
* Snoring
* Obstructive sleep apnea
And, of course, you will see how CranioSacral Therapy can impact this important life-sustaining system! The study group will be particularly helpful for those who have taken CS1, CS2, Cranial Nerves, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics classes.

NOTE: This study group is an anatomy review only and does not address specific CST techniques.
